The IRS is a sponsor of the Tax Freedom Project. Through this program, the foundation donates online federal and state tax preparation and electronic filing services free to low-income families and taxpayers. The Tax Advocate program is another source to help you with your federal income taxes. If you will have trouble paying your taxes, or if you need your return immediately, you may call the Tax Advocate at 11-877-777-4778. The Advocate will assist you only after you have contacted the IRS.
